Restaurant Roulette with Suzanne! December Issue!

There are 3 rules to the game:

1) Every month one person picks the places to dine.

2) No one in the group could have eaten there before.

3) Everyone splits the bill.

Follow me on this journey of tasting new things and learning more about the city I love! Feel free to use this game with your own family or friends and share below the amazing places you find throughout your travels!

-DECEMBER-

Rachael chose an outstanding spot for our choice this month, Speer’s Steakhouse in Mars. This contemporary, stand-alone restaurant boasts a trendy yet comfortable décor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We both appreciated the subtle background music, which added to the relaxed vibe.

To start, Rachael enjoyed a crisp glass of Pinot Grigio, while I sipped on a sparkling Prosecco. Both were served alongside the house-made focaccia and a generously herbed olive oil for dipping. Simple, but absolutely delightful.

For appetizers, the Prime Filet Crostini with Gorgonzola ($17) stole the show. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed.

The French onion soup ($9), however, was a bit underwhelming—not quite hot enough, and the cheese lacked that golden, bubbly finish we love.

Moving on to entrées: Rachael ordered the Chilean Sea Bass ($49), beautifully plated with rock shrimp and creamy risotto.

My choice was a mixed green salad ($10) topped with walnuts, red onion, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and grilled chicken, paired with a side of bacon risotto ($10). A quirky combination, I know, but both dishes were fresh and satisfying.

And then came dessert! We shared a decadent chocolate mousse ($10), rich and creamy, garnished with fresh raspberries. Alongside it, an Affogato Martini ($11) with amaretto liqueur, smooth, indulgent, and the perfect finish to the evening.

Would I return? Absolutely—for another round of that Prime Filet Crostini and those heavenly desserts. All in all, a wonderful night of dining!
