There are 3 rules to the game:
1) Every month one person picks the places to dine.
2) No one in the group could have eaten there before.
3) Everyone splits the bill.

This month’s dinner was the perfect kick‑off to 2026!
On Western Avenue, the Villagio Boutique Hotel opened in July 2025, taking over the former location of the Parador. The brother‑and‑sister owners have transformed the once‑tropical décor into a charming Italian theme. The building itself dates back to the 1860s, and its old‑world character shines through: heavy woodwork, stunning fireplaces, and beautiful leaded glass throughout.
After being seated, we were served fresh Mediterra bread with a flavorful dipping sauce while we placed our drink orders.
We began with the polpette giganti ($14)—a giant meatball topped with whipped ricotta.
Followed by a strawberry and candied walnut salad finished with Gorgonzola ($10). Both dishes were delicious and beautifully presented.
For our entrées, we enjoyed the gnocchi alla vodka ($28) and the chicken limone ($28) served over steamed broccolini. Both dishes arrived piping hot and in generous portions.
And then… the grand finale! Two absolutely scrumptious cannoli made with imported shells and piped with a light, citrus‑kissed ricotta—one rolled in mini chocolate chips and the other in pistachios ($12). They may be the best cannoli I’ve ever tasted. We paired them with La Prima coffee, which made the experience even better.
After dinner, we toured the bar, the elegantly furnished lounge area, and the charming private dining room, perfect for an intimate gathering. The hotel also features nine guest rooms.
I will definitely be returning in the spring to enjoy the grounds, explore the cigar bar, and of course treat myself to those cannoli again.
Check it out. You will not be disappointed!
